The Association and Museum
The Texas Highway Patrol Association and Museum (THPM) is an organization representing the finest group of law enforcers in the nation: our Texas Highway Patrol Officers. It is through our commitment of service, to our members, that THPM distinguishes itself from other associations. Please take a moment to surf our site.

History
In 1991 we began as the Texas Highway Patrol Association and we accepted our first members later that year. We offered great benefits, worked for pay increases, set up an educational scholarship fund, and we are there with emergency relief for the families left behind when an officer is killed. We also provide a quarterly magazine focusing on law enforcement.

We then opened the Texas Highway Patrol Museum in San Antonio, Texas. The museum honors those individuals who lost their lives in the line of duty as well as providing award winning youth programs.

In January 2004, we went through a slight reorganization and consolidation. Prior to the consolidation, there was the Texas Highway Patrol Association and the Texas Highway Patrol Museum - which caused some confusion. Thus, in 2004 we officially changed our name to just "Texas Highway Patrol Association and Museum" – a single large umbrella organization offering the same benefits to members as well as the same educational programs and community outreach.

You will notice that a lot of our literature and print material may contain both names - but, rest assured, this re-structuring will save money and all of your donations and financial support are tax deductible under the 501(c)(3) Federal tax regulations.

Future Goals
We are not stopping there. We are constantly improving our and adding exciting new dimensions to the organization. We are developing additional programs at our museum – bringing awareness to area youth and the communities across Texas. The museum itself will be expanding in the future as well - to include several new exhibits, community rooms, etc. making it a dynamic, interactive, and vital component of the community.
