After two very long nights that Allie and I shared, she died this morning at
9:00 am.  The tumour and cancer had invaded and infiltrated too much and
quality of life is the goal.  We count our blessings that we had such a
sweet and loving dog!  How lucky were we!!

Ally is a happy, loving 9 year old who comes to us from a great owner whose life changed dramatically.  Ally came in with her pal Toss when Dad could no longer give them all the love, attention and care he wanted them to have. Both dogs have settled into their different foster homes wonderfully.  They will not be placed as a pair.  Ally gets this great update from her foster family:

Ally is a terrific girl.  She is very sweet and can not wait to have your attention.  She loves to sit next to you and be petted. She has mild stiffness from arthritis if she gets too much exercise, but she will still make a few half-hearted attempts to chase after a ball. Ally does not chew, does not get on the furniture, is housebroken, and gets along great with our dog Chase.

Ally came into our home not knowing very many commands, but she definitely is a quick study. She has already picked up quite a few from just watching Chase.  Ally has learned how to sit, and we're working on "Down" and "Enough."  She has a strong desire to be obedient and can tell what you want her to do just from the tone of your voice.   Ally is very, very sweet dog. She loves your attention, but is willing to go lay down and rest when you need a break from all that petting! Ally will make a wonderful companion for anyone.  We have not had her around children, but we're confident she would be great. She is a real gem

Update on Ally:

Ally is a very sweet and wonderful nine-year-old dog. She doesn't chew, jump up or get on furniture. She is crate-trained. She knows several commands including: 'enough', 'sit', 'no', and she will always come when called. She loves to be with her human companions but will graciously find her own space if you need some time alone. She is wonderful with children. My boys love to brush and pet her; and she would sit for hours with extraordinary patience all the while loving their attention.

Ally has mild arthritis; but that doesn't stop her from being fairly active. She happily goes on mile-long daily walks and will fetch a little if she is feeling particularly energetic. She plays nicely with our one-year-old puppy and occasionally romps and chases like the young pup she used to be.

Ally is a wonderful low-maintenance dog. She thrives on attention and love. She has a lot of life and love left for her forever home. She would be a wonderful addition to any family.
