Adopted
Heidi is just 10 months old. She was given as a "gift" to an owner who did not have time for her. Heidi has already seen a lot in her short life. She's a pretty gal and was about 15# underweight when she arrived.
She loves her new life as a housedog. Gentle as a lamb, she soaks up all the love and attention she can find. You see this baby had babies of her own. Heidi arrived in the last week of her pregnancy and it was far too late to spay her. Heidi's former owner told us the father is a Chocolate Lab.
GRR does not promote or condone indiscriminant breeding and/or adding any more potentially homeless dogs to the world. However, in Heidi’s case, there was no alternative. To attempt to spay or abort the litter at this late
date was more dangerous for the young mother than to let nature take it’s course. Which means the best thing for this baby was to let her have her babies. Each pup will be placed through the normal adoptive procedures of GRR. All of the pups will be adopted with the contractual obligation to
be spayed or neutered as soon as it is medically safe to do so.
Approximately 7/15, when her mothering days are over, Heidi is looking forward to again being a puppy herself in her new loving and forever home. If you are interested in adopting Heidi or one of her pups, please review the puppy section on our website to determine if a puppy is right for you and then fill out an adoption application ASAP. It is our goal to have their new, forever homes approved and ready to take them home as soon as they are ready to get on with their new lives!

All are doing well and getting bigger everyday. They are cute little butterballs who now weigh between 2-3 pounds. Their eyes should be opening shortly. Heidi
is doing great and is the perfect Mommy to her brood.
6/11/01 Update
They are now three weeks old and just had their first dinner of “puppy gruel” They enjoyed it but what a mess! Their eyes are open, they are learning to walk (wobbling) and they are quite cute!
