Remembered

Patrick and I are so very sad to let you know that Bailey did not make it through his surgery yesterday. We miss him terribly and hold tight to his spirit that is inside of us. We are comforted to know that Mr. B will be swimming and singing on the other side.

love,
Tamara

When we adopted Bailey from Gold Ribbon Rescue in 2002, we had no idea what unique talents we would uncover. Yes it's true. Our dog, Monsieur Bailey is the only French-speaking, Cajun-singing Golden Retriever in Austin. At just five years old, Bailey has become one of the top Zydeco vocalists in his field.

He has been invited to perform Wednesday, October 26th between 9:00 and 11:00 AM CT. He will be a featured artist on the Fais Do Do program with host and accordion accompaniment,Tom Mahnke. Listen to your Austin radio 91.7 FM KOOP or tune into
www.koop.org to hear live streaming audio.

Bailey will be pawing autographs after the show. If you miss him this time, be sure to catch him at next year's SXSW festival where he will host his own CD release party and sing many new hits.

Proud parents,

Tamara Gunter & Patrick Boicourt

Bailey will be two on March 12th.  He is a handsome 76# red boy that loves the world.  Here is his initial foster report:

We went for a walk and it is very apparent that he has had obedience training.  Good on leash just have to set pace and he is fine.  He also loves to talk to you - what a guy.   He is loving, charming, playful and for the most part very well behaved, the only things I am working with him on is his jumping and he tends to get mouthy when brushing him.  He loves to play fetch and run in the yard after Jake our GR.  He'd like to chase Buffy too but she won't have it and reminds him she is QUEEN!

I talked with the previous owner the other day and what a sad story.  She is a full time student with 2 children going through a divorce and custody battle.  She was very glad I called  and told me that his last family still sends birthday cards and Christmas presents for Bailey.  This guy will be great with a family of children but not cats.  He has already tried to get to cats through the window and they love to walk by and tease my 2 dogs as well.

For a dog that is less than 2 years of age he is so well behaved I can't believe it.  Better find him a good home before I convince myself I want another dog!    Oops, forgot about the ride home, he sat up looking out the window almost the entire trip.  I think he might have laid down for maybe an hour of the trip , the rest of the time, he kept me company.   I picked him up around 10:30 a.m. and got home around 5:00 just to let you know how long a trip it was.  I cant say enough about how wonderful this guy is.
