Remembered

Sunny is a wonderful 4-year-old Golden boy on the smaller side (just about 60 pounds), with a loving, mellow disposition. He came to GRR when his previous owner (who had three kids and a fourth on the way) decided she didn’t have enough time to spend with him. Yes, he was wonderful with the children, but she wasn’t willing to keep him. And he does have mild epilepsy (quite common in Goldens), but it’s beautifully controlled with regular medication – all you need to do is add a quarter-tablet to his meals two times a day. That’s it!

Sunny spent some time at the vet’s to get checked out before moving into foster care, and everybody at the clinic just loved him! After that he moved into GRR foster care, and he has been a real joy at my house. When he looks at you with those melting brown eyes, you just can’t believe that anybody could ever give him up.

Sunny gets excited when he sees you get his leash, and he loves to go for a walk. Indoors, he loves to sit and be petted as long as you can keep it up, and he’ll snuggle against you and give you the most loving look.

If you stop petting he may nudge you with his nose to let you know that it’s just fine to continue petting.

Sunny is housebroken and very well behaved. He doesn't get on the furniture—well, except for occasionally jumping on the bed when he hears me stretching in the morning, but that’s a trick he learned from MY dog. He sleeps in the bedroom on a dog bed next to my bed and has never had an "accident," even if I sleep in for 10 hours after a late night. Sunny is just a gem! He is ready for a forever home, and he’ll do great with anyone there— adults, children, other dogs (if they aren’t too pushy!).
