Sunny...
Hi, my name is Sunny, and I would love to tell you a little about myself. My
previous owners became ill and couldn’t take care of me any longer, so they
called Gold Ribbon Rescue. I have been living at my foster home for about 7
weeks now, and I must say I have been having a wonderful time, but I cannot wait
to become a part of your family and move in to stay forever!
I am a cheerful dog, just like my name! And from my pictures, you can see just
how handsome I am. Everyone says I look very youthful for an 11-year-old. When I
moved in a couple of months ago, I had infected ears, a decayed tooth that hurt
when I bit down on it, some skin problems—AND my fur was all shaved off. Whew!
Things are SO much better now. I went on a healthy diet, got my ears all cleaned
up, and let me tell you something interesting, I actually got my teeth cleaned
and the bad one pulled out. Who ever heard of a doggy dentist!!! I probably have
the freshest Golden breath you have ever smelled. My coat is soft and shiny now,
and it is growing longer and thicker every day. I have just visited my doctor
and received a clean bill of health.
Since coming to my foster family, I have met many new friends. I am having lots
of fun with my foster brother, Shadow. He is a 9-year-old GRR Golden whom my
foster Mom and Dad adopted about three years ago. We are getting along so well.
I love to play with him in the backyard. I have also become quite fond of Max,
the family cat. I really like Max, especially the little treats he leaves for me
in his litter box. (Odd … for some reason, Mom and Dad don’t approve of my taste
in snacks!)
I love mealtimes and I know just when they are! You won’t need the clock with me
around – I will come and get you when it’s time to dish up.
The best thing about my foster family is playing with their two little boys. I
love to be around children. I would play with them all day, but I am a little
older and do get tired and have to take a break. I like to fetch balls, but I
keep forgetting to bring them back to the person who threw them. My favorite
part of the day, though, is going for walks. I definitely do not act like a
senior when it comes to my daily walk, in fact I do a little “spin and dance”
routine! I am very good on a leash and do not pull. Also, I adore going for car
rides. When I hear “let’s go bye-bye,” I am the happiest dog ever! I like to sit
in the front seat and see all the sights.
Another one of my favorite things is getting groomed. I just flop over on my
back, and I’ll stay there for as long as you want to pet and brush me.
My foster family compliments me on my good manners. I don’t counter-surf, and
I’m not at all interested in getting on furniture. I have my own bed, which
suits me just fine. I DO have kind of a loud snore, but then again, so do lots
of people I know!
So, that’s my story! If I become a part of your family, I’ll be the most
wonderful friend and the best companion you could ever imagine.
