ADOPTED
Nina
is a ray of Golden sunshine wrapped up in a pretty, petite package. She’s on the
small side for a Golden, but she has love and personality to spare. When her
original owners surrendered her to the shelter, she had just been separated from
her puppies, and she was very scared, very nervous, and not in the best of
health. But though her world had just been turned upside down, her loving,
affectionate personality came shining through.
Here’s what her foster mom has to say:
Nina came to us a very scared, skinny dog who definitely needed some help. She
has a genuine sweetness that was apparent from the very beginning, and it’s
showing more and more every day. Constant love, affection and on-going training
have boosted her self-esteem. What a joy to see her confidence growing! She has
been with us for a month now, and she no longer hangs her head when she comes up
for cuddles, but accepts them as though she knows she deserves them. She joins
the other dogs in the fun and games of racing around the backyard and chasing
squirrels. Her goofy antics keep us amused for hours—she can run circles around
her much slower foster brother, frequently turning somersaults.
Nina can usually be found with a ball in her mouth, and she’ll play fetch until
you think your arm might fall off. She loves water sports, too. Indoors, she’s a
quiet dog and has learned good house manners. She is housebroken and
crate-trained. She enjoys being near you, preferably with a bone or stuffy to
play with. She has the cutest way of flopping down next to you and scooting her
back up until she can touch your feet.
Nina is a happy, healthy Golden girl. A diet of good-quality food has brought
her up to the perfect weight, her ear infections have cleared up, and she just
recently had her spay surgery (she came through with flying colors). She is
wonderful with other dogs and loves to play with them, and she is also good with
kids. She’ll come running when you call her name, but she does need some more
leash training. She knows "sit" and we are working on "off".
Nina needs someone who will make her an important part of the family and
continue to work on boosting her self-esteem with lots of praise and love.
She’ll repay you by being the best dog ever!
